Exams Grades Are Not Real Achievements But

Every student wishes to get A grades in every subject lie learns. Usually, students assume that getting an A grade is the utmost achievement, but if a question is asked related to that subject or related to the class he will not be able to attempt it. So, it indi-cates that the student has achieved a good grade only because he attended the class, submitted all hiS assign-ments, though we can say that he has only completed his classroom require-ments, not those for which he was attending the class ... to learn. Most importantly, in this case the student has performed but he was not able to learn something. Here, we can say that the performance and learning are two different aspects of schooling. Learning is a lifelong process of a human being; is all about developing as a person and understanding that we need to seek deeper knowledge, and also acquiring more skills in order to evolve and become more aware about our surroundings and about ourselves. Whereas improved performance is a goal that can be achieved through learning.

Tt is an output which can be assessed and further improved. From our childhood, we learn basic skills from our elders. The range is vast starting from food habits, cleanliness, respect, how o conduct ourselves, to how to operate a cellular phone, how to solve a math problem, how to put a ball in a basket, as well as the more important moreover aspects such as ethics and relationships too. It's all about becoming smarter through learning, not by only remembering things for the sake of good grades. Further, after learning we apply the knowledge in our daily life. This is measurable and the progress can be monitored by us and by others. We must remember that self evaluation is a valuable tool that provides room for improvement throughout your li fe.

Not since a very long time ago, elemen-tary schools have started to stop provid-ing a great platform to the students to discover what they were good at, giving them space to explore themselves and the subjects which appeal to them. Before it was vice versa, the element of giving freedom to the students to choose their field of interest was present as they were able to explore themselves instead of becoming obsessed only about. grades. Not. only students, their parents and the teachers are also being over concerned regarding achieving higher grades in the exams. It provides an unpleasant environment and has an unfavourably adverse impact on the students.

The question we need to ask is under the circumstances why would a student not become over obsessed about their grades? When the facilitators and edu-cators as well as potential recruiters judge the student through grades and filter those students who have achieved higher or good grades. This is the right time to change our narrow and rigid mindsets and remember that only grades do not provide the incentive for encouragement or signify student potential. Rather we must focus on achieving good grades with better per-formance that will in turn lead towards the path of success.

As research shows, grades are the extrinsic motivation in a. learning process. Instead, we become
over obsessed by aiming for an A without having gained knowledge, understanding or expertise in the subject. It's not always necessary that the student achieving higher grades is always successful in his later life and will achieve higher positions. Focusing only towards grades doesn't lead a. student to acquire full knowledge, skills, and abilities. Now companies like to hire those candidates who have deep knowledge with all the skills and the expertiSe to analyze and implement their knowledge on the whole, and are ever ready to face challenges and think out of the box.

In order to have an ideal learning experience an individual should mainly focus on gathering knowledge and how to implement the knowledge further by utilizing their own skill set so that they can become a. good thinker rather than a technician. 1 present my opinion not to say that we should not focus on the grades. High grades always reflect great enthusiasm for learning more and are also a mark of great. performance. These tied together are crucial for success in life. The only thing that we need to remember is stop obsessing about "how to get. an A?" On the contrary you should only focus on what you can learn from the subject.

Maybe, if we take guide interest towards learning rather than grades, we can easily master the whole subject auto-matically and perform better. Tn this way we can achieve a double victory in the end by becoming both, the great learner and the great performer. So, in short our mind will grow and we will be able to achieve an A grade at the same time! For me that. is a win-win situation! What more could T ask for?
